In 2021, the Irish Penal Reform Trust launched “Piecing it Together”, a set of recommendations to support the rights of children with a parent in prison. While it’s not known exactly how many children have a parent in prison, it’s estimated to be close to 10,000.
This animation was created to highlight some of the points raised within the report and offer insight into what it’s like for these children. It was delivered with a tight turnaround.
